Navigating Search Engine Optimization with an SEO Expert
SEO has always fascinated me. It’s like a mysterious rabbit hole in the wide…wide…web. Always calling to me to fall in and explore (Think Alice in Wonderland!). As I’ve honed my web design skills over the years, SEO has been a constant companion.
Every spare minute has been spent diving down this rabbit trail.
SEO Expert Education
I’ve taken courses from top coaches, devoured books, listened to countless podcasts, and met with SEO gurus. And what I’ve discovered is that the more you know, the more you realize there is to learn.
Google’s recent core updates have turned SEO on its head. I’ve been watching carefully, not reacting too quickly.
Yet, I’ve learned that key SEO principles remain vital, even with the introduction of generative AI.
I thought it might be a good idea to share a few things you should consider when hiring an SEO expert for your website.
Green Flags: Signs of a Trustworthy SEO Expert
Experience and Education: It’s easy to label oneself an “expert,” but ensure they have the experience and education to back it up. Check how long they’ve been in the industry and if they stay abreast of the latest changes. (example of tools your SEO expert will use.)
Testimonials and Reviews: Reviews offer valuable insights. See what others say about their experience and how the SEO expert responds to feedback. In the SEO world, reviews and responses matter.
SEO Knowledge and Understanding: Does your SEO expert understand what’s needed to drive the right kind of traffic to your site? Can they explain it in a way that makes sense to you? Are they asking insightful questions that you haven’t considered?
Real Interest in Your Success: A genuine interest in your business and its success is crucial. Do they take the time to understand your goals and target audience?
Red Flags: Warning Signs in SEO
Unrealistic Promises and Guarantees: Be wary of “experts” promising quick results or guaranteed rankings. SEO takes time and effort.
Lack of Transparency in SEO Process: Your SEO expert should be transparent about their process and help you understand what they’re doing.
Poor Communication: If you find it hard to get in touch with them, that’s a major red flag. They should be responsive and communicative.
Price Concerns in SEO: While you often get what you pay for in SEO, don’t be swayed by the cheapest or most expensive options. Look for value and a clear understanding of what you’re paying for.
Finding the right SEO expert is an investment. Take the time to do your research, ask the right questions, and look for those green flags while avoiding the red ones. With the right person by your side, you can navigate the always-changing world of SEO and find those qualified leads that great SEO will bring in!
